At the end of her talk, Marianne I. Gaunt welcomed comments re: issues that we (VALE members libraries) need to address in the future from the floor:
  1. Establishing better vendor relationships/deals -- similar to some of the deals done in California
  2. More participation in VALE reciprocal borrowing agreements -- goal of 100% at both graduate & undergraduate levels
  3. Get more participation from all research libraries in the state, not just Rutgers
  4. Collaborate with NJLA
  5. Reminder that the issues faced by academic libraries in NJ are really the same issues faced by all types of libraries and NJ and VALE should collaborate with them
  6. Let's look at the statewide curriculum, libraries need to be part of the development of the curriculum
  7. Reciprocal borrowing needs to include non-print materials also
  8. Pool our resources to acquire better deals on non-print materials
